And the winner is...

Thanks to everyone who joined in with our first debate on the very timely topic of the Olympic Legacy. We had an incredible response and can't thank you enough for getting this series off to such a great start.

As you remember, we were giving away a fantastic Workplay Bags Fleetfoot II running bag to the person who we all felt captured the spirit of the debate and left the best comment. Well the votes are in, the bloggers have spoken, and the winner is....

Reading Runner Girl

Her comment on John's blog - Fit For A Year - about ordinary people being more inspirational sparked off debates which resonated throughout the other posts and lead on to further discussions between the bloggers, and that's what this series is all about.

So congratulations to Reading Runner Girl, keep the comments coming!

Don't forget to comment on this fortnight's topic too to be in with a chance of winning a fabulous Smart Shaker - we've got 3 yes 3 to give away this debate so get your argumentative hats on and get discussing!

GIVEAWAY - SmartShake Neon

After the great debate that took off with our Olympic Legacy debate, we are thrilled to offer not one, not two, but three prizes for the best comments on our Race Fees debate, courteShakerssy of the kind people at SmartShake. SmartShake is a high-quality shaker cup with three compartments to store pills and powders. It is made from BPA free plastic and is 100% leak-proof. GIVEAWAY - Workplay Bags 'Fleetfoot II'

It can be a bit daunting making seemingly negative comments on someone's blog can't it? As Dash rightly says in her Olympic Legacy blog there's an unspoken agreement that we're all nice to each other.

We disagree. We think it's good and fun and interesting to disagree. It creates interesting opinions, challenges robustness and introduces variety.

So in an effort to get you all discussing and debating we're offering a GIVEAWAY to one lucky commentor!

Workplay Bags are giving us one of their Fleetfoot II running waist bags to give away to the best comment in this fortnight's debate. In the same way magazines give away a prize for the star letter, we're doing it for our 'star comment'.

The Fleetfoot II has a bunch of well thought out features including a stretch tunnel at the rear for tucking in a hat or gloves and comes with rave reviews from many happy customers. We're thrilled to be working with Workplay Bags on the project and really encourage you to have a look at their site.

Our prize has a £30 value so to be in with a chance of winning it all you have to do is comment on any of the blogs in our Linkup and  we'll pick a 'star comment' at the end of the debate. A star comment could be one which we think raised the most valid point, or one which created a great challenge or even just one we think best reflected the project.

So to be in with a chance of winning our fantastic first prize - get debating!

The Olympics one year on: did we 'Inspire a Generation'?

Friday 12th July's topic

One year on from London 2012 and it's time for a retrospective. The tagline for the Olympics was 'Inspire a Generation' but did they succeed? Are children more involved in sport and was it because of the Olympics? What about adults - were they more inspired to dust off their trainers and get moving?

Join us in a discussion about all things post-olympics. We will delve into the facts, figures, opinions and perceptions of sport in the UK and abroad in the 12 months that have followed the Greatest Sporting Show On Earth.

And just for some light-hearted relief, we reveal those sports we want added as Olympic events, and those we want sacked!

Follow us and keep watching for the launch of our debut articles this Friday, then join in with the discussion and share your ideas.

Come on - help us set the dialogue in motion!

We're standing on the edge... So let's jump

Well well well. Here we are standing on the edge of the precipice staring in the abyssal unknown. We're about to launch a project we think will change the way sport and fitness are discussed among bloggers and which will help people see things just a little bit differently.

We're all about debate at #RunWithAnIdea. We want you to disagree with us and challenge our opinions because we want to encourage everyone to debate those subjects which are often contentious or difficult. It doesn't matter what your opinion is or whether it's even your genuine opinion! This is all about seeing every side of the story and appreciating that not everyone agrees with you.

We need to ease you all in gently to this new way of talking about things so rather than plunge you in at the deep end with a debate about what the suffragettes would think about womens fitness in contemporary media we've gone for something slightly less emotive yet still timely and inspiring.
